Adanya aktivitas fisik yang berat atau suhu udara yang sangat panas, terkadang kita tak hanya merasakan haus, melainkan dehidrasi. Mengingat dehidrasi bisa menyebabkan dampak buruk bagi kesehatan tubuh, apakah kita sebaiknya membatalkan puasa jika sudah mulai merasakannya?

Penyebab Dehidrasi Saat Puasa

Dehidrasi terjadi saat tubuh kita mengalami kekurangan cairan. Tak hanya menimbulkan rasa haus, kondisi ini bisa mempengaruhi fungsi organ-organ tubuh dan sirkulasi darah.

Kondisi ini tidak akan mudah terjadi jika kita menerapkan pola makan dan minum yang baik saat sahur atau setelah berbuka, namun jika kita tidak sempat sahur misalnya, risiko untuk terkena kondisi ini saat berpuasa akan meningkat.

Dehidrasi juga bisa muncul jika kita berolahraga di pagi hari, bukannya di sore hari atau dekat dengan waktu berbuka. Selain itu, jika kita mengalami diare, muntaber, mengalami mabuk perjalanan, berkeringat parah, atau menderita diabetes, risiko untuk mengalami kondisi ini juga akan naik.

Jika kita hanya mengalami dehidrasi ringan yang memicu rasa haus, biasanya tidak akan memicu dampak yang cukup parah bagi kesehatan, apalagi jika kita sudah minum air dengan cukup saat sahur.

Jika kita mengalami dehidrasi parah, bisa jadi kondisi kesehatan akan semakin menurun. Bahkan, dalam beberapa kasus, memaksakan diri untuk terus berpuasa meski sudah mengalami dehidrasi parah bisa memicu kematian!

Hal ini disebabkan oleh terganggunya fungsi ginjal akibat minimnya cairan tubuh. Bahkan, bisa jadi hal ini akan menyebabkan gangguan pencernaan atau kerusakan otot, hingga kehilangan kesadaran.

Seperti apa gejala dehidrasi yang dianggap berbahaya? Jika kita hanya mengalami gejala seperti haus, bibir kering, badan lemas, dan perubahan warna air seni menjadi kekuningan, biasanya hal ini tidak perlu dikhawatirkan karena setelah berbuka akan pulih dengan sendirinya.

Hanya saja, jika dehidrasi bisa membuat kita mengalami peningkatan denyut jantung, peningkatan napas, sulit berpikir, linglung dan meracau, kepala pusing dengan hebat, kulit yang tidak bisa kembali ke posisi semula saat dicubit, hingga kejang atau hilang kesadaran, mau tidak mau kita harus membatalkan puasa demi mencegah dampak lebih parah.

Cara Mencegah Dehidrasi Saat Puasa

Seperti yang kita tahu, ada banyak manfaat puasa bagi kesehatan, namun jika kita tidak menerapkan pola makan dan minum yang sehat, bisa jadi akan menyebabkan dampak buruk seperti dehidrasi. Sebagai contoh, jika kita tidak mencukupi kebutuhan air putih dalam sehari saat sahur, misalnya, maka risiko untuk terkena dehidrasi akan meningkat.

Jika saat sahur kita mengonsumsi minuman berkafein seperti teh, kopi, atau minuman bersoda, maka risiko untuk terkena dehidrasi juga akan meningkat mengingat minuman ini bersifat diuretik atau memicu peningkatan frekuensi buang air kecil yang tentu akan menurunkan kadar cairan tubuh. Selain itu, terlalu banyak mengonsumsi garam juga bisa memberikan dampak yang sama.

Jika kita beraktivitas di tempat yang panas, cobalah untuk memakai pelembab bibir atau pelembab kulit. Pakailah pakaian yang bisa melindungi dari panas matahari secara langsung dan sering-seringlah berada di tempat yang teduh demi mencegah dehidrasi.

Apabila sedang mengalami diare, muntaber, demam berdarah, atau tifus, sebaiknya berkonsultasi ke dokter terlebih dahulu untuk memastikan apakah kita masih bisa menjalankan puasa atau tidak mengingat penyakit-penyakit ini bisa memicu kekurangan cairan tubuh. Kasus cacar monyet ditemukan di Singapura

Kasus cacar monyet mulai menarik perhatian masyarakat setelah satu warga negara Nigeria yang menderita penyakit ini ditemukan di Singapura. Meskipun virus penyakit ini dianggap tidak mematikan, otoritas Singapura langsung memberikan peringatan kepada warganya.

Pemerintah Kota Batam, wilayah Indonesia yang paling dekat dengan Singapura juga ikut mewaspadainya mengingat tingginya perpindahan manusia di antara kedua wilayah ini. Tak hanya menyiapkan ruang isolasi, pintu masuk Batam juga sudah dipasang pendeteksi suhu tubuh demi mencegah masuknya orang yang membawa virus ini.

“Kalau ada yang mencurigakan akan langsung kami bawa ke Rumah Sakit Embung Fatimah dan Rumah Sakit BP Batam,” ucap Didi Kusmarjadi, Kepala Dinas Kesehatan Batam.

Sebagai informasi, warga Nigeria berusia 38 tahun ini telah terpapar virus cacar monyet sebelum tiba di Singapura pada 28 April 2018. Dia diketahui terpapar virus ini setelah makan daging dari binatang liar. Sekitar 23 orang yang telah berinteraksi dengan pria ini pun mau tidak mau harus berada dalam karantina selama 21 hari demi mencegah penyebaran virus ke orang lain.

Mengenal cacar monyet

Cacar monyet pertama kali ditemukan di Afrika bagian barat dan tengah pada tahun 1970-an. Sementara itu, kasus cacar monyet yang pertama kali ditemukan di luar Afrika terjadi di Amerika Serikat pada 2003.

Pakar kesehatan menyebut penyakit cacar monyet bisa menyebabkan masalah kesehatan selama dua hingga empat minggu. Gejala dari penyakit ini adalah demam tinggi, sakit kepala, serta jerawat yang berisi nanah atau cairan berwarna bening di berbagai bagian tubuh.

Didi Kusmarjadi menyebut virus cacar monyet seringkali menular pada manusia akibat konsumsi daging dari hewan liar layaknya monyet atau beberapa jenis hewan pengerat. Sebagian orang dari beberapa wilayah di dunia memang masih mengonsumsi hewan-hewan tersebut sehingga rentan terkena masalah kesehatan ini. Hanya saja, hingga saat ini sebenarnya belum ada bukti tentang penularan virus ini yang dipicu oleh kontak antar manusia.

Otoritas kesehatan Singapura juga menyebut penularan virus cacar monyet cenderung tidak semudah penularan flu. Bahkan, risiko penyebaran virus ini dianggap sangat rendah.

Berbahayakah penyakit ini?

Dinkes Batam menyebut cacar monyet sebagai penyakit yang bisa sembuh dengan sendirinya. Hanya saja, jika di dalam tubuh penderitanya tidak memiliki sistem kekebalan tubuh yang baik atau mengalami komplikasi yang cukup parah seperti cacar air, bisa jadi penyakit ini berpotensi mematikan.

Hanya saja, mengingat sebagian besar masyarakat Indonesia sudah mendapatkan vaksinasi cacar, tubuh kita biasanya sudah terlindungi dan tidak mudah tertular penyakit ini.

Organisasi Kesehatan PBB (WHO) pernah mengeluarkan pernyataan yang isinya mendesak otoritas wilayah yang sudah menemukan kasus cacar monyet untuk sesegera mungkin mengatasinya demi mencegah penularan dan potensi menjadi wabah. Selain itu, masyarakat yang ada di negara dengan kasus cacar monyet juga diminta untuk menghindari kontak langsung dengan hewan-hewan dari keluarga primata dan hewan pengerat.

Melihat fakta ini, kita tidak perlu khawatir berlebihan dengan kasus cacar monyet. Hanya saja, jika kita akan berkunjung ke Singapura atau Batam, sebaiknya menjaga kondisi tubuh agar tetap fit dan mematuhi permintaan dari otoritas kesehatan setempat agar tidak mudah tertular.
